Millennium Tented Camp

Millennium Tented Camp is a mountain camp located on the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro along the Lemosho and Machame descent routes. It serves as the final overnight stop before climbers exit the park at Mweka Gate. The camp sits in the lush rainforest zone, where the air is warmer and oxygen levels are higher after the summit push. This makes it an important recovery point where climbers can finally rest more comfortably following the long descent from higher altitude camps.

Accommodation consists of pre-set mountain tents arranged within a forest clearing. The environment feels calm and sheltered, surrounded by tall trees and natural greenery. After days in alpine and arctic zones, the setting feels noticeably more vibrant and relaxing. Millennium Tented Camp is primarily a rest and recovery stop. Climbers enjoy hot meals, good sleep, and a chance to celebrate completing the toughest part of their Kilimanjaro journey before the final trek to the exit gate the next day.
