Karanga Camp Kilimanjaro is an alpine campsite located on the southern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro at an altitude of about 3,995 meters. The camp is an important overnight stop for climbers trekking along the Machame Route, Lemosho Route, and Umbwe Route. Situated in the scenic Karanga Valley, the campsite is surrounded by rugged alpine terrain and offers impressive views of the mountain’s southern glaciers.
Climbers reach Karanga Camp after crossing the Karanga Valley and descending from the Barranco Wall, making it a key acclimatization stop before continuing toward Barafu Camp for the final summit attempt.
