Meliá Zanzibar is a large all-inclusive resort on the island’s northeast coast in Kiwengwa, built on a 40-acre estate fronting a 300-metre stretch of white sand beach protected by a natural coral reef. It sits roughly 50 minutes from Zanzibar International Airport and Stone Town. Accommodation ranges from simple garden rooms to larger villas with private pools and ocean views, with rooms generally including a private balcony and free Wi-Fi. The main lobby area holds an art gallery, a library, and a small selection of shops overlooking the landscaped gardens.
The resort has five restaurants and four bars on an all-inclusive basis, along with three swimming pools: a main outdoor pool open to all guests, a spa pool reserved for adults, and a separate pool in The Level area for guests staying in that section.
