The safari begins early with a drive from Arusha through the Ngorongoro highlands toward the Serengeti. It’s about a 7 to 8 hour drive from Arusha to Serengeti. As you pass rural villages and open plains, the scenery gradually opens into wide savannah. Upon entering Serengeti National Park, wildlife sightings often start immediately. Giraffes appear along the roadside, while zebras and wildebeest move across the plains in large numbers. Your guide navigates prime wildlife areas, watching for lions resting near kopjes and cheetahs scanning the grasslands. By afternoon, you continue game viewing as you move deeper into the park. You spend the night at Into Wild Camp, where the sounds of the bush surround you and the night sky remains clear and open.

This day is dedicated entirely to exploring the Serengeti. Early morning game drives focus on predator activity, when lions, leopards, and cheetahs are most active. As the day progresses, large herds of wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, and elephants dominate the plains. Your guide adjusts the route based on animal movement and recent sightings, ensuring time is spent in productive areas rather than fixed circuits. A picnic lunch in the bush keeps you close to wildlife and reduces unnecessary driving. In the afternoon, drive to Ngorongoro Conservation area for dinner and overnight

After breakfast, you begin the drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying final wildlife sightings in the Serengeti along the way. The road climbs into cooler highlands as you approach the crater rim. You descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for game drives across its open floor. Within a few hours, you may see black rhino, large lion prides, hippos, flamingos, and dense herds of grazing animals sharing the same space. The enclosed landscape allows close observation without long travel times. After a picnic lunch inside the crater, you ascend and drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon.
